Lunch at daddy's

We went downtown to daddy's office. They love drawing on his dry erase board and playing with his only two toys. The nerf football and slinky. We had mcds and had a nice visit. They got all dressed up on their own. Photo to come. Jake wanted to wear a button shirt like daddy wears to work. And he buttoned all the buttons. And Haley wanted a dress of course. An of course they needed fancy shoes. Thank goodness they don't care that I wear jeans :)

Forgot

I was trying to get the kids down for nap but they've been off since we've been going downtown and to see cousins etc. so they weren't napping. I guess I fell asleep and was woken up to two kids saying 'mommy stop making that noise' pretty funny and not funny. Wish they had taken longer naps and me too.

Yay

Jake earned his spiderman watch by asking to poop in the potty and pooping in the potty. Yay. He's stayed dry and is pooping. This boy is potty training himself.

Candy offered by stranger. Haley said no thank you. I'm allergic to nuts and eggs. Very nicely done. And jake shouted no. I can't have peanuts. We have to work on him not screaming. But very smart.

Haley told one of our friends that her baby was getting bigger. Which was a nice way of saying her belly was getting bigger.

Deep thoughts

Our dinner conversations with an almost three year old are very deep surprisingly and he uses the words 'actually'

And discussing jail and bad guys and we got to talking about pretend play and when we need to ask for a lawyer

A lot of deep talk and questions and we talked about why he felt that way etc. very big talks for a little guy.

Yay Thomas undies

Jake has been dry since he woke up. His pull up was dry and he has had no accidents. Yay. He even asked to nap in his Thomas undies. But I'm not ready for that yet. Big boy.

Great memory

Jake asked me if this is the elephant Marty was talking about. He pointed to dumbo. And I realized he remembered a conversation from two weeks ago when Marty told us at lunch he liked the movie dumbo. What a memory for an almost three year old!

night 7

last night we had our cousins over last night for brisket, potatoes, asparagus, fruit, latkes, cookies....yummy food and presents.

8th night

kids love their new ipads. i got them fancy cases that are supposed to protect their fancy gifts. fingers crossed.

Last night

What a great Hanukkah. Tonight they got their biggest gifts from savta, Saba and Bubbe.

They love their new educational iPads. These kids have such rough lives. I set them up with educational games for them and figured out how to set up some restrictions.

They also got some great games tonight and fun clay.

They got some great stuff. They are very loved and lucky. We are very lucky.

Now we have to figure out what more could jake possibly need for his birthday. And then the kids will be set for awhile.

I didn't have my own game boy or portable computer until I graduated college at 18. These kids are 2 and 4. Craziness.

We will just have to be careful to not get them too hooked on their iPads and still run and play. They are so great at imaginary play and playing together!

Such a great Hanukkah this year. They were old enough to sing the songs and play dreidel. They know the Hebrew letters and what they mean. So amazing.

kids got xmas eve pjs (tradition from when i was growing up) these are wintery pjs. soo cute. and magnatiles. so fun!!! these are great to build with.

night 4

summer outfit in winter/winter pjs - nap wear

jake got a doctor kit and went and put on his doctor coat. so cute. haley got a princess blackberry so she can text her princess friends. jake had haley send cinderella a text to say that we will see her soon. hilarious.

tonight we had shabbat hanukkah services where everyone brings their menorahs to light. so pretty. my favorite. and we also had a fun hanukkah party with friends.

Naptime wear

Our kids come home from school for a wardrobe change. Jake changes into fleece pjs. Haley changes into a summer dress. This is their nap where. It is 35 degrees out. This is what they'd sleep in no matter the weather. Hilarious. I've created wardrobe changing monsters because I change into my sweats when we get home too :) mine are weather appropriate though.
