allergy info
Are allergies inherited?
Your baby may inherit the tendency to have allergies but not necessarily a specific allergy. For example, if you have hay fever, pet allergies, or a food allergy, your child has a 50 percent chance of having some sort of allergy, too, although maybe not the same one you have. That probability jumps to 75 percent when both parents have allergies.
Will my baby outgrow her food allergy?
She might. Many children outgrow allergies to soy and wheat by the time they head to school. And about 20 percent of children outgrow their peanut allergy. Allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish are more likely to be lifelong than other food allergies. Some recent studies suggest that milk and egg allergies may take longer to go away these days than before, with fewer than half of children in one study outgrowing milk or egg allergies by age 8 to 10.
But Scott Sicherer, associate professor of pediatrics at the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and author of Understanding and Managing Your Child's Food Allergies, points out that these new studies are from a referral center for food allergies and may represent children with more severe allergies.
Allergies
work test results back. He is severely allergic to peanuts and sesame.
And also allergic to chickpeas and soy. So no wonder he had a huge
allergic reaction to hummus. He had a double whammy. We will now watch
more carefully about sesame. Luckily we were already being careful
about nuts. Going to specialist hopefully soon.

Even
smaller. Makes for an even wrestling match and pretty fun play for
them until someone gets hurt. They have been having fun playing
together though. And j looks up to his sister and tries to do what she
does. He keeps up pretty well.

Colors of the rainbow
last color is 'violent' instead of violet. Had to explain the
difference. So cute.
She has been really into somersaults. Might have to get her into
gymnastics.

Lost
any lids. Also making dinner at the same time and went to pull out our
dinner rolls and pulled out five marker lids out of my oven mitt.
Silly 2 yr old boys.
Finding lots of fun things in his pockets.
Last night daddy worked really late and Haley wanted her nails painted
so we played beauty parlor. Jake wanted his toes painted blue. But all
we had was pink. Silly me right. And so we painted his toes. He wanted
the pink off. But you can still see it a little since he doesn't sit
still.
Today Jake did very well getting his blood drawn for some allergy
tests. It was sad to see him cry. I hate going. He was so cute saying
hi to everyone and introducing himself and Teddy to everyone in the
elevator. So friendly. I let him bring Teddy because I knew what was
coming was going to need Teddy help.

Smarty pants
elephant. C is for cat. D is for daddy. J is for Jake and jaguar. So
silly smart. Love it. She has been doing this for awhile but I keep
forgetting to mention it.
She is also very detailed in her story telling. Very imaginative. Had
a dream about me and daddy with unicorns and dragons. She goes on for
15 min. Creative mind like me.

Quite the big boy
iPhone app tomcat to playing with the simplest of toys - his block
train. Love it. He loves to build things and take them apart. He likes
to figure out how they work and study them.
Jake and Haley have been playing so nicely together but they can also
play alone really well.
Just can't get over our baby is going to be 2.

Storytime
animals by name and can make their sounds. Thank you Eric Carle and
the very busy spider. And he can name boats, blimps, cars, red lights
from go dog go.
When Haley got up she told me what the plan was. I was to leave for
the day so she could play with her daddy. Sounds good to me. And she
says 'that's the plan'

Kid update
out TACOS. Said no maybe for lunch he yelled PIZZA. Haha.
The kids are getting along great an having a blast running around
their empty basement. Even more they love playing with the bubblewrap
from all the packages. Yesterday they were being too quiet in jake's
room playing and I went in and set off a bubble wrap trap they put in
the door way to hear me coming. Scary smart and hilarious. Very
affordable alarm system. They definitely heard me coming.
Jake is talking so much. Can't believe he will be 2 and can't believe
Haley will be 3.5. She loves to sing lately and really belt out.
She is becoming quite bossy. My friend had her baby over and his name
is Jackson but his nickname is jj. Haley corrected her and said it's
not jj it's Jackson in a very stern voice. Hilarious.

Rugs
and designing etc. I didn't do much manual work. I did take a lot of
stuff out of the basement an I'll out stuff in but can't say I put up
walls or redid electrical or plumbing. I'd probably really hurt myself.
Hat
Our designer came over yesterday and she came in and Jake asks 'hat?'
and pats his head. He wasn't satisfied until she showed she had one in
her bag.
Then this morning daddy was leaving and he asked 'hat?' and patted his
head. Again very concerned. And he had to make sure he had earmuffs.
Very cute. And so much like his Jewish mommy. Haha.
